After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Humanities from Brighton I started my career working in the arts for a London west end theatre producer, working on Matthew Bourne's ballets. Then for a not-for-profit arts marketing agency in event management, research and writing tenders supporting venues across Sussex.
With a view to moving to France I retrained as a language teacher with a CELTA from Cambridge and worked as an English for Business Teacher for a decade at France’s top private Business Schools creating courses and developing the student’s confidence in public speaking, business skills such as negotition, persuasive writing, debating and marketing.
After a serious rethink of life, values, the work/life balance and of course my journey to sobriety, I took some time out to study and decided to move into coaching.
I trained with the NET Institute, for an ICF accredited dual programme, as a certified professional Life coach and a certified professional recovery coach, focusing my personal study on the triangle of mental health, trauma and addiction. I am a founding member of the IAPRC (International Association of Professional Recovery Coaches). I am a SHE RECOVERS© Designated Coach, a Gray Area Drinking Coach trained by Jolene Park, trained in Professional Addiction Counselling and an International Recovery Coach trained by Janique Svedberg IRSI.
In 2017 I co-founded Love Sober with Kate Baily to provide a platform for online courses, the Love Sober Podcast, workshops and writing and community.
I am an author, public speaker, trainer. Working to raise awareness and to destigmatise experiences of trauma, mental illness and substance use disorders.
I speak English and French, work internationally and online and live in France with my husband, two children, cat and dog.
